The Auxiliary was founded in 1905 as the “Ladies Auxiliary to the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company”. Many years later the Organization began accepting male members thus changing the official name to the “Auxiliary to the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company.
The Auxiliary provides dedicated assistance to the firefighters of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company by leading/participating in many Auxiliary and Fire Company fundraising events. These events include, but are not limited to Bingos, Food Trucks, Hampstead Day, Annual Carnival, Annual Cash Raffle and many other events throughout the year.
The Auxiliary also provides Fire Aid for firefighters when needed. Fire Aid consists of food and/or drinks prepared and transported to the scene of an incident (fire, accident, etc.) when the firefighters will be on-scene for an extended period or in unfavorable conditions (severe weather, high temperatures, etc.).
With the opening of the new Fire Station and Event Center in 2024 there will be many exciting opportunities for the Auxiliary to support our firefighters as well as local and surrounding communities.
The Auxiliary meets on the last Monday of each month at 7:00p, except for the months of May (3rd Monday), June, July, August and December. For more information or to become a member please send an email to auxiliary@hampsteadvfd.org.
