Yesterday was a great day for the Hampstead VFC, not only did we open a new station but two of our young members graduated from Carroll County's Emergency Services Technology (EST) program. We would like to congratulate Alexandra Carroll and Kaitlyn Scott for graduating the program after an intense year of learning. In addition to graduating the program, Alexandra Carroll was also awarded the EMS Academic Award. This award was given for her performance during the Emergency Medical Technician course and chosen by the EMT instructors.

In additional to having a very successful senior year both academically, including the EST program and playing a varsity sport these young ladies were both very active with HVFC serving as Junior Advisors. Alexandra and Kaitlyn will graduate later this week and we could not be more proud of them! Keep setting the example ladies!.

After the graduation ceremony, the program held a "Family Night" which was attended by friends and families. The "Family Night" which consisted of several scenarios that demonstrated all the skills learned throughout the program to include fire, medical and rescue. The night's "big show" was a simulated dwelling fire with rescue. Several of our Junior Firefighters and their families attended to watch and support Alexandra and Kaitlyn.

The EST program is open to high school students to learn more about the program please visit the program's webpage.
