Vehicle Collision with Entrapment RT. 482 Near the Park & Ride

Around 2:30 this afternoon HVFC was alerted for a vehicle collision reported serious near the Park & Ride at Rt. 482 and the Bypass. Maryland Department of the Environment Emergency Response Division Unit 5401 arrived first to find a single vehicle into a large traffic sign with the driver trapped. Additional units were dispatched to assist. Crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the patient. The patient was treated on scene and then transported to the landing zone to the awaiting Maryland State Police Medevac. The patient was transported by helicopter to a trauma center.
