| This evening, HVFC had the pleasure of hosting special guests K-9 Diesel and his handler, Christina, from the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Department and the Go Team Therapy Dogs of Frederick County.
During their visit, we discussed the importance of mental health for first responders and highlighted the critical role therapy dogs play in providing comfort, reducing stress, and supporting overall well-being. The presentation was both informative and impactful, reinforcing the importance of taking care of those who serve our communities.
Following the discussion, our Junior members and their families enjoyed spending some quality “Diesel time,” which was a highlight for everyone in attendance.
We extend our sincere thanks to Christina and Diesel for joining us and for the important work they do in supporting first responders throughout our region. |
